Cambourne
New residents continue to be welcomed every week and construction work is almost finished on the last building plots within Great Cambourne. When completed, the total number of homes in Cambourne will be around 2600. Construction work has started on Upper Cambourne, with the first homes due to be occupied in spring 2008.
Cambourne's latest facilities include a Chinese takeaway and Cricket Pavilion. The developers are expected to hand over a storage site for touring caravan to the Parish Council soon.
The Citi4 bus service to Cambridge runs every 20 minutes during the day, and there is a later service in the evenings. The second phase of the A428 dual carriageway is now open.
South Cambridgeshire District Council policies propose further development at Cambourne, over and above the 3300 which already have permission. Public views are being sought on a new outline planning application for 950 additional homes. This will review a lot of issues affecting the quality of village life, not least efforts to reduce the impact of new dwellings on climate change and wildlife. It will also take into account the shared experience of new Cambourne residents so that travel, sport, education, community youth and community, cultural and faith activities are all considered.
Consultation workshop

A consultation workshop took place during March 2007, and the results have now been published.
