Local Plan 2004 - Proposed Modifications (October 2002)

Following the release of the Inspectors Report in January 2002, the Council considered the Inspector's findings and prepared its response to each of the recommendations in two documents:

  • Council's Response to the Inspector's Recommendations; and
  • Schedule of Proposed Modifications.

The Inspector recommended 367 modifications to the Local Plan, and the Council accepted all but 12, which are:

  • the Area of Restraint (Recommendations R21, R22, R23)
  • Meldreth housing allocation (Recommendations R34, R309)
  • Heathfield housing allocation (Recommendations R56, R338)
  • shopping hierarchy in villages (Recommendation R99)
  • Green Belt at Tesco, Fulbourn (Recommendations R254, R255)
  • framework at Vicarage Close, Waterbeach (Recommendations R346, R347)

The Council also reviewed the Environmental Appraisal that accompanied the Deposit Local Plan to take account of new government guidance and the environmental impact of the Proposed Modifications on the Plan.
