Objection Sites and Site Allocation Policy Representations

South Cambridgeshire District Council has previously held two consultations on Objection Sites. These are sites which were suggested in representations made against the Council's Submission stage documents of January 2006. These representations suggested sites for development which were not allocated in the Council's LDF documents.

The government's plan making regulations require the Council to advertise all such sites, as well as any changes which are suggested to the sites which the Council has proposed for development in its Submission stage documents.

The first Objection Sites consultation included a total of 31 sites, which were all of a scale great enough to affect the Core Strategy Development Plan Document (DPD), and related to the Council's Area Action Plans (AAP). These sites were suggested in objections raised in relation to the following documents:

  • Core Strategy DPD
  • Northstowe AAP
  • Cambridge Southern Fringe AAP
  • Cambridge East AAP

The second Objection Sites consultation featured 148 sites, which were raised in relation to the Site Specific Policies DPD.

Site Allocation Policy Representations Consultation, June-July 2006

At the same time as the second Objection Sites consultation, objections which sought changes to the sites allocated for development in the Council's documents were also advertised. These were called "Site Allocation Policy Representations" and related to the documents listed above. An example of such a representation would be one seeking a higher density of development within the boundary of a site already suggested by the Council (resulting in a greater number of dwellings), or seeking a different mix of land uses within the site.
