The Local Development Scheme (LDS)

What is the Local Development Scheme?

The Local Development Scheme sets out the timetable the Council will follow in its production of planning policy documents over a three-year period to March 2010. It will be reviewed annually to keep it up to date, except where it needs to be updated more urgently. Essentially, the LDS sets out how the Council will complete the move from the previous system of Local Plans to the new Local Development Framework system.

Update

It had been the intension of the Council to revise the Local Development Scheme for the beginning of April 2008. However it has been advised by the Government Office East to delay this revision since there are soon to be amendments to The Town and Country Planning Regulations 2004 that could change what should be included in an LDS. In the interim the Council has published a list of revisions that it wishes to make to the current LDS, which have been submitted to the Government Office.
