What is the Development Control Policies DPD?

The Development Control Policies DPD will guide decisions on planning applications within South Cambridgeshire. It is an extremely important part of the Local Development Framework, covering a wide range of topics, including housing, jobs, services and facilities, travel, the natural environment and the Green Belt.

Adoption of the Development Control Policies DPD

The Council submitted the Development Control Policies DPD to the Secretary of State in January 2006. Examination hearings to test the 'soundness' of the DPD were held in October 2006.

The Inspectors issued in May 2007 their Inspectors Report concluding that the Development Control Policies DPD is 'sound' subject to a number of binding changes being made. The Development Control Policies DPD was formally adopted on 19 July 2007.
