Cambridgeshire County Council Strategic Open Space Study

The Study, carried out by Atkins on behalf of the County Council, defines the nature and distribution of Strategic Open Space (SOS) in Cambridgeshire, maps its accessibility, and evaluates provision across the county. It considers the implications of population growth on SOS, and indicates how much new SOS is needed in the light of planned growth. Estimates are given of the cost of providing new SOS, both to remedy historical deficits and cater for growth. Suggestions are made as to how SOS should be managed in the future. Projects and opportunities for enhancing SOS provision are outlined, and examples of good practice are given.
