Pest control appointments

For a pest treatment to be effective the pest control officer will need to know:

  • What the pest is,
  • Where it has been seen,
  • How to access the area where the pest is located.

Somebody will need to be at home when the visit is carried out. Officers will not enter a domestic premises unless there is an adult present for the entire duration of the treatment.

Normal Service Levels

The pest control team will aim to visit and treat the property within 4 days. However the service is on a strictly first come, first served basis and has seasonal peaks so on some occasions it may fall outside this period of time.

Emergency bookings

For absolute emergencies e.g. a rat in the house, the pest control team does retain emergency slots. These cannot be booked without the permission of the pest officer and emergency bookings are at his discretion.

More than 1 appointment

If the pest control officer has a large scale job to do it may require more than 1 appointment slot to be booked. All flea and bedbug treatments will require at least 2 appointments to be arranged.

For treatments when bait is left (e.g. for rats, mice etc) the pest officer will visit two weeks later to check on the progress of the treatment and remove the boxes if the problem has cleared.
