Information to the residents

South Cambs Magazine: In addition to this website, SCDC has produced various climate change-related articles which appeared in the Council's quarterly magazine distributed to 57,000 households in South Cambridgeshire. The articles have helped to raise public awareness of climate change and its likely impacts across the district. The Council will continue to use this successful medium to communicate the issue of climate change to its residents.

Public Events: SCDC is also organising various public events in partnership with the Energy Saving Trust and other councils to promote energy saving measures, renewable energy technologies and the steps we can all take as individuals and householders to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide we release into the atmosphere.

Publications: SCDC has issued several publications available to the public which are related to climate change and our environment. These include:

Promoting renewable energy

The Energy for Good Scheme: SCDC is working with the National Energy Foundation to help householders toward installing renewable energy systems in their homes. This includes solar electricity, modern wood heating, ground sourced heating and wind electricity. For more information visit www.cambridge-energy4good.org.uk. (This link will open in a new window)

Other renewable Schemes: A renewable energy map and guide for South Cambridgeshire and Cambridge has been produced which illustrates different schemes across the area. The combined map and guide is available from Richard Hales by calling 03450 450 500 or email: sustainability@scambs.gov.uk.
