Cambridgeshire Archaeology protects and investigates the historic environment of Cambridgeshire to promote:

The historic environment is made up of all the evidence left by people over the past 50,000 years - ancient sites and monuments, historic towns, villages and buildings, landscapes, features and finds.

Archaeology is the discovery, study and understanding of this evidence.
