Parish Initiatives

Background

South Cambridgeshire District Council administer three parish initiatives, detailed below.

Parish Planting Scheme

The Parish Planting Scheme is open to all parish councils, schools, and charitable trusts where land is open to members of the public. South Cambridgeshire District Council can supply and plant large container grown stock for the forth-coming planting season.

Tree and Hedge Scheme

The Tree and Hedge Scheme is open to all landowners providing the land is not subject to planning conditions for landscaping or any other planting subsidies that may conflict. There are criteria for the scheme; please contact us for more information and a pack.

Parish Tree Warden Scheme

The Tree Warden Scheme is a national initiative founded by the Tree Council and co-ordinated by the Council. Tree wardens are volunteers, generally appointed by parish councils gathering information about local trees, encourage practical projects and get involved with local tree matters
