We support

The Farmland Museum illustrates life in South Cambridgeshire and provides a museums service for the district. It:

  • has an important collection highlighting agriculture and village life in the 20th century
  • attracts 10,000 visitors a year (with the Abbey)
  • runs a successful programme of events and workshops for families and adults
  • gives workshops for schools and talks and tours for community groups
  • benefits from close ties with the local community and the help of Friends, volunteers and sponsors

Denny Abbey (next to the Farmland Museum)dates from Norman times and has a colourful history including occupation by the Knights Templar and Franciscan nuns. Although it was later converted into a private house much of the medieval building remains.

The Museum and Abbey are just to the north of Cambridge, off the A10 at Waterbeach.

We work with

The Imperial War Museum Duxford is an internationally important museum and visitor attraction. It is Europe's leading aviation museum - as well as housing one of the finest collection of tanks, military vehicles and naval exhibits in the UK.

Duxford aerodrome was built during the First World War and was one of the earliest Royal Air Force stations. From 1924 until 1961 it operated as a fighter station. Duxford has an exceptional group of First World War buildings and is the finest and best preserved fighter base from the period up to 1945

We are part of

The Cambridgeshire Museums Advisory Partnership encourages and supports museums across the county, helps publicise their work and promotes the contributions they make to local communities.
