Making a referral
Getting the right information:
- Provide your name, address and telephone number (all treated with the strictest confidence)
- Name and address of claimant
- Description of claimant, colour, age, height, build, hair colour/length, distinguishing features
- What benefits are claimed?
- Does the claimant have a partner/children (obtain details)?
- Is there any motor vehicle used (what type, colour, registration number)?
- Is the claimant violent?
- Allegation
If the allegation concerns employment
- Employer's name, address of work
- Departure time/return time to and from home
- Full or part time work?
- Earnings
- Is a uniform worn? - Description?
- Is there a company/private vehicle used (what type, colour, registration number)?
If the allegation is an undeclared partner
- Length of time living together?
- Partner's description?
- Any children involved?
- Do they have a vehicle, (what type, colour, registration number)?
- Do they work, (if so, as above)?
Make a referral online
There are several types of benefit fraud:
- Living together
Does the person claiming benefit live with another person? - Non residence
Does the person claiming benefit live at a different address to that of their claim? - Self employed and claiming benefit
Does the person claiming benefit work for themselves? - Sub-letting the property
Does the person claiming benefit sub-let out their property? - Undeclared capital
Does the person claiming benefit have a sum of money that they haven't declared to us? - Undeclared income
Does the person claiming benefit have an income which they haven't declared to us? - Undeclared non-dependants or lodgers
Does the person claiming benefit have lodgers or non-dependants living at their address? - Undeclared property
Does the person claiming benefit own the property they live in, or any other property? - Working for an employer and claiming benefits
Does the person claiming benefit work for an employer? - Other
