Statement of Accounts

The purpose of the published statement of accounts is to give electors, local taxpayers, Members of the Council and other interested parties' clear information about the Council's finances. The statements should inform readers of:

  • the cost of services provided by the Council in the year 2007/08
  • how services were paid for; and
  • the Council's assets and liabilities at the year end.

These accounts are supported by appropriate notes and a statement of the accounting policies of the Council. There is also an Explanatory Forward which summarises the Council's finances in general terms.

The document includes:

  • Explanatory Foreword
  • Statement of Responsibilities
  • Auditors Report (to follow)
  • Annual Governance Statement
  • Statement of Accounting Policies
  • Income and Expenditure Account
  • Statement of Movement on General Fund
  • Statement of Total Recognised Gains and Losses
  • Balance Sheet
  • Cash Flow Statement
  • Housing Revenue Account
  • Collection Fund

and can be downloaded as:
