Of the 19 district wards and 20 seats due for election all but one has been contested. The uncontested ward is Papworth and Elsworth where the existing councillor Conservative Mark Howell has been elected unopposed.

Of the 30 parishes having elections there are six going to poll. Councillors for Arrington, Harston and Longstowe Parish Councils as well as both wards on the Great and Little Eversden Parish Council and the Great Chishill Ward of Great and Little Chishill Parish Council, will be decided by electors after more nominations were received than seats available.

Election changes

This election will be run in accordance with the changes made by the Electoral Administration Act, aimed at making voting more accessible and more secure. So, what does this mean for you?
- In a bid to combat fraud, all postal votes will now be subject to signature checking.
- Candidates' ages - while there is no upper age limit for candidates to stand for election, the lower age limit has now been changed from 21 to 18.
