Postal and proxy votes

To apply for a postal vote, please print off and fill in the form below. A ballot paper will be sent to you, either at home or another address before the election which can be returned by post. In a bid to combat fraud, all postal votes will now be subject to signature checking. When you make an application to vote by post you will be asked to provide a specimen signature and your date of birth. This information will be required on a security statement on all returned ballot papers, and will be checked against our records. We are legally required to check 20 per cent of statements, but will be checking 100 per cent to make sure your vote is safe.

Please note all postal votes will be sent ten working days prior to an election, the earliest date allowed by law.

To appoint someone to vote on your behalf at elections, please print off and fill in one of the forms below. Your proxy must be over 18, entitled to vote at the election, and not voting as proxy for more than two people (other than close family). You must consult the person you are appointing to make sure they are willing and able to be your proxy.
