Councillors' weekly bulletin

The Councillors' Bulletin is a weekly circular containing information for the councillors about forthcoming meetings and events, links to agendas and minutes, decisions made by the executive (members of the Cabinet) and officers, details of training events, local information and more. It is sent to all members of the Council, 93 parish councils and meetings, neighbouring authorities, the media, co-opted members of Council committees, and to public subscribers. There is a section for items of interest to Parish Councils, and Parish Councils are welcome to send information of local events to Democratic Services (This link will open in a new window) for inclusion in the Bulletin.

Decisions will be published within two working days of being taken and the Bulletin contains a summary of all the decisions taken during the previous week, including when they were taken and the call-in period, if applicable: the Chairman of the Scrutiny and Overview Committee (This link will open in a new window) or any five other Councillors, whether or not they are members of the Scrutiny and Overview Committee, may, within five working days of the publication of a decision, "call-in" for review any executive decision. Executive decisions are those decisions made by the Cabinet or by any individual member of the Cabinet. Any decision not called in by the end of this time period may then be implemented. Detailed information about the call in procedure can be found in the Constitution (This link will open in a new window) (Part 2: Article 6 - Scrutiny and Overview and Part 4: Scrutiny and Overview Committee Procedure Rules).. Basic information is also available in the Public Guide to the Constitution (This link will open in a new window) under the heading Decision-Making.

The Councillors' Bulletin is published on the website every Thursday morning. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to access the bulletin. Adobe Acrobat Reader can be downloaded for free from the Adobe website.
