Parish boundary review
Arbury Park residents, and those living in villages surrounding the Arbury Park development, are being consulted about the proposed new parish boundary that could see a new parish council created.
SCDC held an initial boundary review last summer to look at the options available for the creation of a new boundary. After careful consideration of all the comments received, our Electoral Arrangements Committee has recommended we create a new parish for the Arbury Park Development. SCDC firmly believes that this should happen to provide local and effective governance for the new development, enabling future residents to have a sense of community when moving in.
The consultation period will end on Friday 9th May 2008 and all local residents, parish councils and other interested parties are invited to submit their responses via our interactive online form (This link will open in a new window) together with any other comments. All current residents of Arbury Park, Girton, Histon, Impington, Kings Meadow and Milton will receive a leaflet showing details of the recommended boundary change, and a Community Event is being held on Wednesday 30 April 2008 from 7 pm - 9 pm at the Meadows' Community Centre, 1 St Catherine's Road, Cambridge, CB4 3XJ, where South Cambs DC Officers will be on hand to answer any queries or questions you may have.
SCDC will consider all responses over the coming weeks and final proposals will then be forwarded to the Department for Communities and Local Government for approval later this year.
A review of parish boundaries around the new town of Northstowe will be considered in the autumn.
