community access points
Community Access Points (CAPs) are public and community buildings where computers, scanners and printers have been installed for local people to use. There are thirteen CAP's across South Cambridgeshire and they are listed below.
Just some of the things you can do at your CAP are: check email, surf the web, keep in touch with family, write letters/ documents (e.g. CV), access information and services, produce household accounts and scan photos and other documents. You can also learn basic computer skills and supervision and tutor support will be available to help you do this.
How about volunteering?
We are looking for local people with some IT experience, to become volunteers and help teach people how to use a computer or improve their existing skills
Would you like to help your local community? Do you want to:
- make a difference in someone's life
- gain work experience
- make new friends
- develop your personal skills
- enhance your CV
Volunteers will receive guidance on the free training tools available online, including BBC Webwise and First Time Online; awareness of good practice; ideas for learning activities and access to free Skills for Life courses and qualifications. For further information please email community.development@scambs.gov.uk
