northstowe planning application

Northstowe Update February 2012

Proposals for Northstowe are shortly to be re-launched with an outline application for a Phase 1 development expected later this month. The Joint Promoters (Gallagher Ltd and the Homes and Communities Agency) have been reviewing the master plan for the whole of Northstowe and will also be submitting a Development Framework Document. This document will set the context for the Phase 1 application and the future phases of the new town.

Community Involvement

In 2009 the Northstowe Parish Forum, which is made up of County, District and Parish Councillors who represent the communities that surround Northstowe, was formed. More information on the Northstowe Parish Forum, including agendas and minutes of meetings, can be found here.

In early October the Joint Promoters held consultation events at Longstanton and Oakington on the proposed Phase 1 development and Development Framework Document. It is hoped that the results of these events will help to inform the application that is to be submitted.

Following the submission of the Phase 1 application and Development Framework Document further consultation events will be held. The first of these are expected to be held mid March and more information will be available shortly.
