Cambridge East

The Cambridge East Area Action Plan allocated the Cambridge East site for a sustainable urban quarter of approximately 10,000 to 12,000 dwellings and a large district centre providing a mix of uses. In addition, local centres, public transport stops, a major green corridor, a new country park to the east of the development, an urban park following the relocation of the Park and Ride facility to the north of the proposed country park where also proposed.

In 2010 Marshall announced that it would not be feasible to move its company away from Cambridge. It would review its position in the future if circumstances changed.

South Cambridgeshire and Cambridge City Councils will have to take into account this change of position in their reviews of their respective local development plans. Further details of South Cambridgeshire's review can be found at: Local Development Framework News (January 2012).
