GAMBLING ACT 2005 POLICY REVIEW

The Council is the Licensing Authority for premises within the South Cambridgeshire District Council boundary. The Act requires all Licensing Authorities to publish a Gambling Act Licensing Policy, setting out how it administers its duties under the Gambling Act 2005. The policy is kept under review and remains in existence for up to three years.

The Gambling Act Policy was reviewed in accordance with the latest edition of the Gambling Commission's Guidance to Licensing Authorities and approved by the Council on 26th November 2009; it was issued in May 2009. Notable changes include additional or amended guidance on the splitting of premises, temporary use notices, enforcement, planning and duplication, applications for tracks, provisional statements and reviews.

The policy may also be inspected at our main offices in Cambourne during normal office hours or viewed online. The new policy comes into force on 2nd January 2010.
