HEALTH AND SAFETY COURSES

South Cambridgeshire District Council runs a range of Health & Safety courses, fully accredited by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH). These courses are normally run at the Council's offices in Cambourne. However, if you have more than 10 delegates, we can deliver the training at your own premises, if you wish.

The courses

Level 2 Award in Health & Safety in the Workplace (All Employees) (7 hours)
Level 2 Award in Principles of Manual Handling (All Employees) (3.5 hours)
Level 3 Award in Health & Safety in the Workplace (Supervisors/Line Managers) (21 hours)

Level 2 CIEH Award in Health & Safety in the Workplace certificate

Location: South Cambridgeshire Hall, Cambourne Business Park, Cambourne
Time: 09:00-17:30 hrs
Maximum number of places: 15
Cost: £60 per person

Payment should be made in advance of the session by cheque payable to South Cambridgeshire District Council, which is to be returned with a completed course registration form obtainable from the Council Contact Centre on 03450 450 063.

Content of course:

Session 1 - (3.5 hours)

Introduction, Health & Safety Law
Health & Welfare
Safety (inc Fire, Accidents, Electricity, Slips and Trips)
The Workplace and Work Equipment

Session 2 - (3.5 hours)

Risk Assessment, Manual Handling and Hazardous Substances
Ergonomics, DSE, Working at Height, Transport, Noise & Vibration

At the end of the second session a multiple choice examination will take place and successful attendees will be awarded a nationally recognised CIEH Level 2 Certificate in Health & Safety.

Level 3 CIEH Award in Health & Safety in the Workplace certificate
